Photography: Crisis of History
Joan Fontcuberta, noted artist, curator and historian presents a new and surprising history of photography, featuring previously unknown works that expand our understanding of photography’s past and present. Photographs by Picasso, Dalí and Miró are featured alongside important commissions of Albert Renger-Patzsch, Man Ray, László Moholy-Nagy, Alexander Rodchenko and Walker Evans, and the recently re-discovered oeuvre of Ximo Berenguer who photographed the nightlife of Barcelona in the 1970’s before his tragic premature death. This is Fontcuberta’s first exhibition in Hamburg.
